I’ve noticed that when conservatives are actually convicted sexual predators, conservative voters elect them. They even promote them to SCOTUS or POTUS. Ironically, they also get outraged if someone like Senator Franken is accused of pinching a grown woman’s butt cheek at the state fair.

I mean, conservatives voted in and supported post-arrest, the following sex predators: Republican Tim Nolan, chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in Kentucky, who pled guilty to child sex trafficking, and on February 11, 2018, he was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison. Conservatives called it a “witch hunt” and said it was “political.”

The last one standing is the elephant in the room.

As an older gay guy who spent his formative years in San Francisco, I’ve seen many changes and challenges in the LGBTQ community; AIDS, gay civil rights, gay marriage, and the list goes on. At every turn of the gay rights movement, confrontation was required. To me, gay rights are just good ol’ garden variety human rights. All rights are human rights, in my opinion. And from where I was standing, as a young gay man, it seemed that the fight was always about a group that wanted to progress versus a group that wanted to conserve things just the…

According to data, trans people are more likely to be unsheltered.

As a twenty-two-year housing advocate and co-founder of a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness, I am a firm believer that housing is a human right. So, why then have I felt torn about the Equal Access Rule as applied to homeless shelters? For one simple reason, complying with laws without preserving individual human rights leads to unintended consequences.

I believe that respecting one individual’s decisions should not bring harm to others. Not second-guessing anyone’s decision about their gender is one way to be respectful. Not second-guessing anyone’s need for a same-sex safe space is also respectful. The Equal Access Rule…

Delta is sick and tired of sitting in the middle seat. All corporations are. It’s a shitty seat. That’s why they’ve pulled a reverse Trojan horse. Instead of hard-selling the middle seat, they took it off the menu to entice us aboard. They’ve taken a page right out of the Trump playbook. Now they’ve got some people saying we should call off our boycott. No. We shouldn’t. Delta is pulling a Trump. Don’t fall for it.

Senator Mitch McConnell

Blah, blah, blah! So much chin flapping, and so little truth or intelligence being spoken. If America had a dollar for every time you told the truth, we’d be broke.

Now, I must admit, Senator Mitch McConnell, you are pretty consistent regarding women’s issues. That is… consistently against them, you turtle-faced buffoon. I’ve compiled a small list, of which I have tried to use small words, so that you, and your voter base of vulnerable adults, will be sure to understand.

You’ve voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act, against the Paycheck Fairness Act, the Violence Against Women Act, the Family…

Today we on the left are in a position to repeat history or to learn from it.

The only thing new under the sun, on the Senate floor, is that the stakes are higher than ever before. The tug-of-war isn’t new, and neither is our dysfunctional reaction to it. Let’s take a breath, look to the past and move calmly forward with history to guide us.

Many of you may remember U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson from Minnesota. Although he was never one of the celebrity politicians who got a lot of press time, he often got criticized for voting with…

Some of us on the left say, “Eat The Rich,” but then we cannibalize each other instead. How about “Feed The Hungry?” Maybe that is a better slogan from now on.

I know I will be pilloried by many of my comrades for writing this critique. I am doing it because I know we are on a precipice many countries have fallen down before; the conservatives are destroying us and are making great strides turning America into a fascist nightmare that will be very hard to wake up from. Be neither apathetic nor on the attack because of a Democrat…

In 2019 I was on a mission. I wanted to learn up close about my two fantasy lifestyles; sustainability and communism. “Ye who asks shall receive,” they say (which is generally bullshit, but I got lucky).

People in America are programmed to regard with suspicion anyone who questions the system. We don’t even realize we’re doing it. It’s been modeled from birth. So slurs like “commie bastard” roll off the tongue while we preach that America is the greatest nation ever existed. Perfect in its execution of equality, liberty, wealth, and justice.

For this reason, I was always careful about…

2021 is shaping up to be better than 2020 in that same way 1860 was better than 1859. Now, like then, we have a conservative problem gaining in hysterics and desperation. On January 6th, and then the 20th, America will excise the tumorous outgrowth of that conservative problem from the White House, yet I warn that we should not breathe a sigh of relief just yet.

Trump and other conservative leaders are merely the unsightly tumors that result from a disease hidden among us. Conservative voters are the cancer that metastasize throughout our nation and create more tumors. Removing tumors…

What are our delusions about the unity of the states? What does “united” actually mean? It’s something I never thought about much before 2020. In fact, I’ve taken it for granted most of my life.

Sweeping and dramatic events have forced many of us in these “united” states to ask ourselves what exactly we are united for and against. Our differences are countless from state to state and it is almost as if each boundary separates foreign countries more so than united states. …
